PGDFS course is designed
to impart knowledge and skills necessary to provide
a range of standard financial services and specialised
or niche financial services as well. This specialised
programme provides training for those employed in financial
institutions or seeking to develop employability in
the financial services industry. It equips students
to associate with the growing financial services industry.
Programme Outline:
PGDMM is a one-year University Programme
in Financial Services resulting in the award of
Post Graduate Diploma In Financial Services.
Objectives:
The basic objective of PGDFS Programme is to diversify
into a sunrise industry and be in tune with the
Liberalisation Programme of the Government of India.
To provide young graduates an opportunity to gain
insights into new areas through formal University
education and training.
To Proffessionalise University learning process
and augment the social relevance of University Programmes.
To provide participants with an opportunity to
develop knowledge of basic concepts, insights into
quality financial services and sharpen the decision
– making process.
Eligibility Criteria :
To be able to apply to Choice Institute
of Management Studies & Research , the candidate
should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
The candidate should hold a three year bachelors
degree (10+2+3) or its equivalent in any discipline.
Candidates appearing for their final exams
can also apply.
Course Structure :
The course will have two
semesters, each semester consisting of 7 papers each
and the project report.
Duration :
One Academic year.

Admissions will be made according to
the rules and procedures laid down by the University
and an Entrance Test / Group Discussion / Personal Interview,
whichever applicable, will be conducted by CIMSR.

Project Report :
Students are expected to complete the
project report for minimum 5000 words and submit a copy
of the report to the Director of the Institute. The
report must be based upon the first-hand study of some
marketing management aspect of any organisation. No
student can appear for Semester II examination unless
he/she scores 40 out of 100 marks assigned for the Project
Report.
Grading System and Assessment :

CHOICE follows the percentile
fashion of grading
The assessment takes place in the concluding
part of every semester. These assessments, some of which
can also be ‘self – assessing’
types, shall consist of the following :
Written assessment.
Group Discussions.
Presentation of Projects.
Field Work.
Personal Interactions.
Observations of the concerned faculty.
Also it is worth noting that certification
can be detained under any of the following situations:
Less than 70% attendance.
Absence or aversion from Ongoing Assignments,
Projects, and any practical work.
Projects / Reports not documented and submitted
or presented completely and / or in time.
Failure in undergoing any of the assessments
Fee Structure :
As per University norms and Value-Addition
Package of the Institute.
Payment Conditions :
The following condition apply to
payment of program fees and other dues:
1) Fees are payable by Demand Draft of a Nationalized bank drawn in favor of "Director, Choice Institute Of Management Studies & Research" and payable at PUNE.
2) Fees once paid are non-refundable
excepting the security deposit, which shall be returned
on the successful completion of the program.
3) The total program fee including
the security deposit will stand forfeited if a student
once enrolled quits studies or is disqualified to study
on any and every account.
